From a very young age around 5 years old
every Saturday my father taught me how to
select and place records on the stereo gram.
My father would practice his dance skills for
the big dance, my father loved his reggae
and sentimental songs. My mother loved soul music and would play these songs regular
My mum loved to play the radio as we
getting ready for school.
Mum purchased a ghetto player for me which I would bring to secondary school in the common room in those days we say in the 5th year (year 11).
We would socialise as I played music in the back ground.
In my teenage years, I listened to radio
Luxembourg, Tony Williams, David Rodigan, Soul train Top of the Pops
I could not wait to get paid
and then off to the record shops to
buy records.
I was 16 years when my
mother bought me my first champagne-coloured record player.
I love all genres of music Ska, Revival,
Blue beat, R&B, old soul, Lovers Rock, Roots and
Culture, Smooth Jazz and Gospel.
People began to recognise my ability to sing.
When I was in secondary school, the teachers would ask me to
sing in school assemblies, this progressed, to people inviting me to sing
and to play music at parties.
